Bison Horn

Bison Horn buttons were fairly common in the mid to late 1800's when (sad, but true) buffalo were slaughtered by the millions. Their horns were split open, steamed to soften them, die cut, and pressed into buttons. Discovering a bison horn button with a beautiful pressed pattern on it is a rare but exciting moment when sorting through old buttons.
